Our growing youth ministry program celebrates God’s love all around us through engagements with the youth spirituality, community building and involvement in parish life, and developing an awareness of social justice concerns and how best to serve our neighbors and the entire general call to bring together the young men and women who are dedicated in the service of the Lord by ministering to each other and God.
During the season of the pandemic, our youth ministry program remained silent since there were no virtual platform set already, however after the lifting of the Lock down, the youth were encouraged to participate in activities that build synergies in terms of providing psychosocial and spiritual support to each other especially
after going through COVID19 that affected a number youth in different ways and dimensions.
The youth at St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Parish have enough space to accommodate their gatherings notwithstanding the opportunity to participate in other ministries run by the parish. For example, they
youth animate mass at 3:00pm every Sunday.

The kind of the mass has been predominantly occupied by the youth themselves participate in the youth mass. The mass has been used as the platform where the youth can pray together and share their sufferings and joys with the
Lord together in the youth perspective. Students from the surrounding secondary schools and institutions have been part of youth ministries at the parish, these populations in future are going to increase a number of youth ministries in the parish.
The youth ministry is growing whereby the youth are having meetings using a similar platform as the open youth group, but with attention focused more on brainstorming, developing leadership skills, and spending time in prayer. The circumstances of the pandemic presented an opportunity to also find out other platforms where the youth can grow in their talents and other ministries that can support the needs of the youth in many perspectives.
The sports ministry for the youth is also growing at St. Charles Lwanga Town Parish. Many youths from the parish church and other outstations through the leadership empowered by the youth chaplain have been
involved in sports activities that are bringing many youths together to share and/or discover their talents that will allow them to contribute towards the development of the entire youth ministry. This youth ministry will continue to foster transformative experiences for youth in order to provide them with the tools needed for a life of faith and
action in the universal Church.
